RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 Notification – Selection Procedure
According to the official notification of RRB, the selection procedure for the RRB Technician Syllabus 2025 is based on CBT, Document Verification and Medical Examination.
Based on the performance of candidates in the CBD examination, the candidates equal to the number of vacancies it will be called for DV in the main list. The impanelment of candidates will be based on merit that is marks obtained in the CVT and subject to successful completion of DV and passing prescribed medical examination.

RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 Notification – Exam Pattern
The standard of question for the RRB paramedical recruitment 2024 single States CVT (Computer Based test) will be generally for the educational standard / OR for minimum professional / Technical Qualifications prescribed for the posts. The question will be the objective type with multiple choice. As per the notification, the test is likely to include questions related to professional ability, general awareness, arithmetic, General Intelligence and reasoning and general science.

(a) Candidates should apply only through ONLINE mode through any of the official websites of the RRBs. Candidates can apply to only one RRB for a pay level and only one common ONLINE application (in order of preference for any or all the notified posts in that pay level for which the candidate is eligible and interested to apply) should be submitted by a candidate in a pay level. The selection of RRB once exercised shall be final. Application to more than one RRB for the same pay level by a candidate will lead to rejection of all the applications for that Pay Level.
(b) The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:
(i) Computer Based Test
(ii) Document Verification (DV) and
(iii) Medical Examination (ME)
(c) Information on examination schedule and venues will be given to eligible candidates in due course through RRB websites, SMS and email.
(d) Request for postponement of any of the stages or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.
RRB Technician Syllabus 2025 – CBT-1 Detailed Syllabus
Computer Based Test (CBT):
There will be a separate CBT for each pay level.
(A) Pattern & Syllabus of CBT for Pay Level- 5 post i.e., Technician Gr I Signal
(i) Total Duration: 90 min & Total Questions: 100
(ii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
(iii) Normalization of marks will be done for CBT held in multiple shifts.
(iv) Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various communities: UR–40%, EWS–40%, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)-30%, SC-30% and ST-25%. This is also applicable to Ex. Servicemen category candidates, as per their community. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% marks for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
(v) The marks scored in CBT shall be used for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this recruitment process
(vi) Syllabus for CBT of Technician Gr I Signal: Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus

Document Verification (DV):
(a) Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on their marks and merit in the CBT for the respective Pay Levels. The number of shortlisted candidates will be equal to the number of vacancies.
(b) In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., the older candidate shall be given higher merit than the younger candidate.
(c) Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration and final verification of all essential documents and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.
(d) In case of any shortfall in empanelment or other exigencies, RRBs reserve the right to utilise the candidates down in the merit list if required, as per merit and options of such candidates. This however, will not confer any vested right on such candidates to be considered for appointment
(e) Candidates may please note that RRBs only recommend names of empanelled candidates to the Railway Administrations concerned. The offer of appointment is issued only by the respective Railway Administrations.
Candidates who are shortlisted for 2nd stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of a community, PwBD and ExSM shall continue to be considered only against that community for all subsequent stages of the recruitment process. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions.
